The most anticipated transfer of the January transfer window was announced yesterday 22nd January by 6pm.
Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez has joined Manchester United in a sensational deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other direction.
The 28 year old Chilean forward, has put pen to paper after the long-running transfer was settled between the two clubs in England.
It was thought that Mkhitaryan’s wage demands had stalled the transfer swap deal – until United boss Jose Mourinho beat off competition from Chelsea and Manchester City to secure the Chilean services.
The striker netted 60 times in 122 games for the Gunners after signing from Barcelona in 2014.
It was confirmed by United through their official page that Alexis Sanchez will wear the legendary No.7 shirt at Manchester United.
The Chilean’s arrival will boost Jose Mourinho’s hopes of making up ground on Manchester City in the title race and enhance their chances of a deep run in the Champions League.
Mourinho now possesses a formidable strike force with Sanchez set to link up with Romelu Lukaku, France Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
Jose Mourinho added: “Alexis is one of the best attacking players in the world and he will complete our very young and talented group of attacking players.
“He will bring his ambition, drive and personality, qualities that make a Manchester United player and a player that makes the team stronger and the supporters proud of their club dimension and prestige.
“I would like to wish Henrikh all the success and happiness that I am sure he is going to get. He is a player that we will not forget, especially for his contribution to our Europa League victory.”
United fans could see Sanchez make his debut on Friday in the FA Cup fourth round vs Yeovil.
